Banaras Hindu University (BHU), located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, is one of India’s premier central universities. Established in 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya with support from Dr. Annie Besant, it was founded to promote education and Indian cultural values.
